contact

Last week Chad sent me a link to a list of neat Wordpress plugins. I’ve been messin around with a couple of them, most recently the SimpleModal Contact Form Wordpress Plugin. Click “Contact” in the sidebar to check it out (send me an email while you’re at it!!)

(SMCF) is an Ajax powered modal contact form. It utilizes the jQuery JavaScript library and the SimpleModal jQuery plugin. SMCF has options to include certain contact form elements, like a Subject field and “Send me a copy” option for the sender.

New Family Site

Honeycutts.net is my new family site I launched today. I used to blog family stuff on my old blog honeycuttfam.com. I decided to get a new domain, mod a new theme, and export/import the honeycuttfam.com database. Wordpress makes it incredibly easy to import a database file into a new install. They even make it easy to move all your posts from Blogger and other free blooging websites to your own server. Nice.

Go Check Out: “Desk Space”

Desk Space is a premium free and feature rich Wordpress theme.

It comes with a robust set of built in features and plugins, including the ability to switch out the background wood finish color to one you like.

Everything you see in this demo is using built in plugins. The only plugin we have installed and activated is the cforms on the contact page. It comes highly recommended.

I finally decided up style my WP theme a bit here for my personal info blog. I went with a dark theme that was simple. Added the Cform plugin for the contact page. It’s super easy to use and customize. I am also messing around with plugins for Picasa (since I hate Flickr). Im am using the kPicasa gallery plugin with the Highslide option. I’ll be updating more in the future.

While working on getting this site up I decided to try out the updated version of ScribeFire. I am truly impressed! When you have a bajillion Wordpress blogs that need updated regularly, ScribeFire is the way to go. I am using it to write this post as a matter of fact. My lame attempt to describe its awesomeness cannot give it justice… so I emplore you to download this puppy and take it for a spin.
