About
My Name is John Honeycutt… but everyone calls me “J.J.” My mom decided to give me the nickname when I was a baby due to argument between my father and grandfather about whether to call me “Jonny” or “Jake.” It’s a goofy nickname but people seem to remember it.
At the risk of boring you to death, I will give you a little information about me. I’m a 29 year old man who hails from Montana. I am married to the love of my life, Sara, and have three adorable children ages 2, 3, 7. I am a resident of the greatest state in the union… Idaho.
My background sounds much more interesting than I actually am. While in high school I joined the Army National Guard and became an infantrymen even while still a junior in high school. After I graduated high school, I deciding against a scholarship to go to Western Montana to major in Art (I wanted to see the world). So, I then applied for a waiver to leave the National Guard to join active duty Army. I was shipped out to Ft. Sam Houston, Texas in 1997 and attended Combat Field Medical training. I then went up the hill to the Army Medical Academy to attend the Mental Health Specialist program. After almost a year at Ft. Sam I then headed over to Ft. Benning, Georgia to attend Airborne School. So after a year of training I was officially an Airborne Mental Health Specialist with EMT training. I was stationed in Ft. Bragg North Carolina in the 82d Airborne Division and worked in a small out-patient mental health office underneath a Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, and a Psychiatrist. I learned more in those years than any college education could have taught me… they were most invaluable.
After I left the Army I moved to Spokane, Washington where I attended college at Spokane Community College and Eastern Washington University. I really didn’t know what I wanted to end up doing so I decided on majoring in Developmental Psychology. I loved kids and I loved helping people, however I didn’t care for college life. I was married to my sweetheart from Pennsylvania who I met at a music festival near Portland Oregon. She was a business major that graduated from Messiah College in Harrisburg PA. We now have a cute little family and I praise God everyday for His blessings.
If you look at my resume I have done a variety of different social service jobs, primarily working with children. I have learned though, that my interest is in business. I love it. I have recently began a start-up web development business with a close friend of mine. We call it Dirty Blue Media. It involves all things that I love doing, i.e., business, web technology, computer technology, photography, and getting to talk with people and help them solve their problems related to marketing, etc.
Now I am looking for work to help supplement my income. I am really looking for anything to keep me busy and help me pay the bills, whether its part-time or full-time. I am a very driven individual that enjoys a challenge. I really just enjoy working.
For whoever is reading this, please feel free to drop me a line if you are in ‘the know’ of any work opportunities available in the Coeur d’Alene or Post Falls, Idaho area. Thanks!
